Optional setup

Why install the CLI?

Your agent can use Artifactbin over HTTP without installing anything. The afbin CLI enables:

  • Local files: Pull an artifact, edit it locally, and push your changes.
  • Connecting your agent to Artifactbin: Tag your agent in any artifact!
  • Skills: Set up agent skills so your agent has the Artifactbin workflow ready to use.

macOS / Linux

curl -fsSL https://app.artifactbin.dev/chat/install.sh | sh

Windows PowerShell

Invoke-RestMethod 'https://app.artifactbin.dev/chat/install.ps1' | Invoke-Expression

Run the command for your platform in your agent’s environment, then open a new terminal. The installer reuses supported Node/npm or installs official Node LTS for your user.

Waiting for your agent…Putting the pixels in a row.
Why your company needs artifactbin

Agent-ready infrastructure.
Out of the box.

(psst… how is this better than Claude Artifacts or ChatGPT Sites?)

  1. Human hands and robot arms refining charts and leaving notes together
    01 / Stateful collaboration

    Stateful apps & comments.
Humans and agents on the same page.

Artifacts remember state. Comments remember context. Collaborate with teammates, ask an agent to make changes, or edit it yourself.

Pick up exactly where you left off.

  2. A projector beaming a small dashboard onto a large wall of data
    02 / Optimized for agents

    Token efficient.
    Beautiful by default.

Connected data keeps artifacts small. Handcrafted themes, typography, and charts give agents a beautiful starting point. Less boilerplate. Less slop.

1.5–10× more token efficient for data artifacts!

  3. Different tools and agents connected to one shared bin of artifacts
03 / Works with every agent

    Bring your favorite agent.
    Light and breezy.

Simple HTML, CSS, and JS. Build with any agent, and let another pick up the work. Open source. Self-hostable. No lock-in.

Your agents may change. Your work stays yours.

FAQs.

How is this different from Claude Artifacts or ChatGPT Sites?

Unlike ChatGPT Sites or Claude Artifacts, Artifactbin makes persistent state and collaboration first-class: your apps can remember data and people can work on them together. You can also edit artifacts yourself in a visual editor, and any agent can pick them up later, not just the one that made them.

What about Lovable, Bolt or Replit?

For most reports, dashboards, stories, these solutions are overkill. Also, I love my agent, and want to use that! Artifactbin keeps the infrastructure separate from the agent, so you can bring whatever model you like (including cheap ones like DeepSeek) and swap it whenever you want.

Why not just write an HTML file?

For a one-off, private pages, sure. Making it look good, putting it somewhere people can open, deciding who sees it, collecting feedback/comments, editing it later: that is the part you would rebuild every single time. Artifactbin brings all the infrastructure you need, out of the box.

Who can see what I publish?

Whoever you want. It works a lot like Google Docs: keep an artifact private, make it public, hand out an unlisted link, or invite specific people as readers, commenters or editors. Public and unlisted links open without an account.

How expensive is this?

Artifactbin is free. Free as in beer and free as in speech. The hosted server costs nothing today, and the whole stack is Apache-2.0, so you can always run the server yourself.
